Supervisory Order On The Revocation Of The Appointment Of Mustafa Mujkanovic And Mirsad Islamovic From The Interim Assembly Of The Brcko District

In accordance withparagraph 37 of the Brcko Final Arbitral Award of March 5, 1999 and paragraph 2 of the Annex of August 18, 1999;

Recallingthe Supervisory Order of March 21, 2000, appointing the members of the Interim Assembly of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

Following the confirmation by the Basic Court of Brcko District of the indictments against Mustafa Mujkanovic and Mirsad Islamovic, appointed members of the Interim Assembly of the Brcko District by the aforementioned Order, for abuse of office for acts committed as officials in the Brcko-Rahic municipality, prior to the establishment of the Brcko District;

Without prejudiceto the final outcome of the criminal procedure against the aforementioned councilors and with confidence in the independence and impartiality of the Brcko District Judiciary;

With the aimto ensure that the Interim Assembly of the Brcko District retains its reputation and integrity in the exercise of its duties and continues focusing on the demanding task of harmonization of legislation until elections are held for the Brcko District Assembly;

Commending Mustafa Mujkanovic and Mirsad Islamovic for their commitment and performance in the exercise of their duties as Councilors of the Interim Assembly of the Brcko District;

I hereby Order the revocation of the appointments of Mustafa Mujkanovic and Mirsad Islamovic from the Interim Assembly of the Brcko District.

The revocation shall become effective on November 30, 2002, and shall be published in the Brcko District Official Gazette.
